The Great British Take Off: Paul Hollywood faces move to LA to be with Marcela Valladolid as 'wife files for divorce'

Paul Hollywood has been told he will have to up sticks and move across the pond to the USA if he is to be with reported new love Marcela Valladolid.

The TV star will be forced to start a new life in the States because friends close to Marcela say the beautiful brunette has no plans to move to the UK.

The news is a double blow for The Great British Bake Off star as it has emerged that his estranged wife Alexandra will file for divorce.

Marcela, 34, has reportedly told friends that she will never move to England as she plans instead to launch her career as America's most famous female chef.

She admitted that she fell in love with Paul, 47, while they filmed the American version of his BBC2 show, and is unlikely to reunite with her own husband.

A close friend told The Sunday Mirror: 'Marcela has made it clear what her feelings are for Paul and that her marriage is over.

'She is fascinated by what the future might hold with him. But she has made one thing clear – there are no plans to go and live in England.

'Marcela is fiercely ambitious and tends to get what she wants. Her only aim now is to be the most talked about female chef in America.'

Her husband, a former Mexican politician called Fausto, 39, had wanted to sort out their troubled marriage and had planned to rebuild their relationship when she returned home to Tijuana.

However, Marcela told Fausto, with whom she has a eight-year-old son, that their marriage was over and she had found someone who could give her everything she wanted.

Meanwhile, any reconciliation between Paul and Alexandra looks to be over as she wants to end their 15-years of matrimony, according to a friend.

A source told The Sunday People: 'She has decided there's no way back and has spoken to a solicitor about filing for a divorce. That's it as far as she's concerned.

'She is thought to have begun proceedings. It's dreadfully sad, she thought they would be married for ever. Thus has all come from nowhere.'

Paul won viewers’ praise and support as the happily married presenter of Bake Off, but viewers have vented their disgust at his behaviour.

Hundreds of fans of the BBC show have now taken to the social networking site and other message forums to express their disappointment Hollywood has left his marital home and has been linked to Marcela Valladolid.

So appalled are they by his behaviour many have stated they don’t want him back on the show – leaving producers in a ‘tricky position’ over what to do.

A show source said: 'There has been a viewer backlash against Paul over these allegations. A lot of fans on Twitter and other sites are saying they don’t want him back.

‘This hint of scandal has put producers in a tricky position because it is a really wholesome show. Whatever the truth - I don’t know if people will look at Paul in the same way anymore.'
